Hi I'm Colleen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 now grown children. My husband and I just celebrated our 30th anniversary. We were married in the temple. Currently my husband is inactive. I have hope he will once again become active. I know it is mostly because of health problems, psorisis and his knee. My father was in the Air Force and I had the opportunity as a child to travel and see much of the Untited States and Europe. I have a great appreciation for the beauty of the world and understanding of what I have been given.

Why I am a Mormon

My father was a convert to the church just after I was born. My mother was raised in Utah and was a member of the church. I have a pioneer heritage I am very proud of. I am a member because of the teachings of my parents and teachers in Primary, Sunday School and Young Women. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I know it is his work. I could not imagine life without his words. He has shown us the way to live and to be happy. To be willing to endure and strive to live our full potental.

How I live my faith

I have been called to work in our Wards meetinghouse library. I love being able to help gather materials for lessons the teachers and leaders are preparing. Since I was a little girl I have enjoyed going visiting teaching. Then, I went with my mother and I had a very early experience of seeing my mother assist in the medical welfare of a sister who we visited who had fallen and was hurt in her home. My grandmother also shared her experiences of being a visiting teacher and love of going and participating in Visiting Teaching Conferences. I could not wait to be able to be a real visting teacher. My opportunity came when I went to Ricks College. I enjoy visiting and teaching the messages to the sisters I visit. I discovered I was learning from those I visited. They shared their life experiences, knowledge, and wisdom with me. I have enjoyed previous callings of serving in the primary. Working with the children. I love Primary Music listening and singing! I have been a chorister in primary without an actual music background. I do not read music. Teaching in the nursery and Sunbeams were my very favorite callings. I love the little ones, they give so much joy!
