Hi I'm Tim

I was born and raised in Idaho, and have never farmed potatoes. I'm a university student, avid runner, musician, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a history major at college, and hope to teach at the university level. I am also a runner. I play the guitar a little more than I should, and enjoy composing my own music. I also enjoy audio production (recording, editing, etc...) and work doing post production on audio for the university.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Mormon Church. However, I never really gave it much thought until I was 15 years old. Before that it was just the way we did things. Then one day I was listening to a message from a church leader, and I had a new feeling come into me. It was like I woke up. The idea came into my head, "This man really believes what he is saying. And it is true." I started listening harder, and realized how full and good I felt. It was something I can no more describe than deny. I made a personal commitment that day to live the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Mormon Church. I know now even more than then that it is true. I have never been let down even slightly. Actually, I have never ceased to be blessed and surprised by more and more joy than I ever expected.

How I live my faith

I try to think, "What is God sitting there wishing I were doing right now?" and try to do that.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Tim
Many people hope for "something better" after this life. One of the most comforting things to me is the knowledge that God knows exactly what will make us perfectly happy. Not only this, but he loves us and wants to give that gift to each one of us. He wants to give it more than anything else. To top it off, God is all powerful, and is completely capable of making that "something better" beyond this life a reality. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches us about what kinds of things God has in store for the people who follow His Son Jesus here in this life. You can learn about it in The Book of Mormon, and by listening to the messages of our modern prophet. The most encouraging teaching to me is that eternal happiness, or eternal life is centered on family relationships lasting forever in perfect harmony. My family is the greatest joy I have here, even though it is far from perfect. I know that God intends for me to have them with me forever, and that is possible if I follow Him. Show more Show less
