Hi I'm Denise

I am a nurse by training and a business owner, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am an avid reader, my favorite joke is if you put me on a desert island the only thing I would need is bread, butter, cheese and some books! interest. I love to garden, and stay abreast of national affairs. I love my family(especially those grandkids!)

Why I am a Mormon

Beacuse of that thirst for knowledge, my readings and seeing the Osmonds on tv, etc, lead me to being ready for the missionaries to knock on our door and share the gospel with us. My first question? "Could you bring me some information on food storage?" From that point, 30 years later, I continue to have a growing testimony of the Lord's church. It has directed my husband , our children and their children's lives for the best, and continue to strive to return to our eternal Father.

How I live my faith

I presently serve as you guessed it, a preparedness specialist in our ward, wherein I help others become prepared to have food, skills needed to maintain a stable life, especially in times of need. I also teach institute weekly to young adults, of college age 18-30. It serves as a place they can meet to share and grow their testimonies and have fun to gether.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

Denise
That was the second question I had for the missionaries in 1981. Their answer that there were no longer restrictions, was enough for me. i have read many articles on the why, but the best answer is that the Lord spoke to our living prophet and said that it was no longer necessary. It is a question many sometimes struggle with over the years because we all want absolute, definitive answers, but the Lord does not always work that way. He answers and gives us what we need. My family and I have served in many positions including ledership roles over the years. We have no restrictions, and being members has truly blessed our lives, and he uses us to help others also.
