Hi I'm Kathy

I am a wife, mother, student and teacher. I love working children. Kick boxing is my "me" time and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother of two and a full time college student. Life can get pretty busy here at my house with my husband and I going to school full time and working part time as well. I love to exercise and kick boxing is one of my favorites. I have an interest for life and learning. One day I hope to complete my own book. and have it published. I love cooking and baking with my kids. Trying new recipes has become a new hobbie of mine.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the church and come from a family were some of my siblings as well as myself struggled in the gospel or going to church when we were younger. There were things that I did that were not in line with the things that I had been taught from my parents and leaders in the church. Jesus Christ is our Savior and through his atonement we can be forgiven of the things that we have fallen short on. I have felt the forgiving power from my Savior and Redeemer even Jesus Christ. Through that power I know that I have been forgiven of my sins and I know that anyone can come to the Savior and feel the peace that comes through forgiveness. I know that the principles that are taught in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is True. I have received my own witness of this truth and cannot turn away from it. I have been blessed from following the teaching of the gospel, for the gospel is good news for everyone who will accept it. I know through my own experience that at times it can seem easier to sin than it is to follow the commandments, but I know that as we strive to live the best we can that can find peace and happiness that comes through living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live the principles of the gospel. To love my neighbor as my self. When I am asked to serve in the church I try my best to fulfill my calling. Temple work is important and I try to serve there often.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

It is to refrain for drinking alchol, caffine, tea or anything that is harmful to the body. Smoking and the use of illegal drugs as well as the misuse of prescription or over the counter drugs is also something that we stay away from. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I remember going to a General Womens Broadcast about 7 years ago with my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws down to the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was the first time that I had ever been to a live conference like that. The conference was for the women of the church (18 and older). I remember stepping into the conference center and going to find seats, the center was buzzing with the melody of womens voices as they spoke to each other. We had found our seats and sat down, I reached down to get out a paper and pen to write down different thoughts that would come to me during the meeting. As I was sitting back up there was an instant hush from all the chattering women. I looked up to see what was going on. All of the women started standing and as I looked down to the pulpit I saw President Gordan B. Hinkley entering the room. I will never forget the feeling that came over me as I watched him enter the conference hall and take his seat. The spirit of the Lord testified to me that day that he was a modern day living prophet of God, that he was ordained in the heavens to teach us in the latter days the teachings of our Heavenly Father. President Gordan B. Hinkley has since passed and is now in the presence of our Father in Heaven, but I as it was testified to me that he was a true prophet of God, I know that all of the Latter-Day prophets from Joseph Smith to President Thomas S. Monson today are prophets of God. Just like the Prophets of old Abraham, Isaac and Jacob we have modern day prophets on the earth today to lead us and guide us so that we to can return and live with our Father in Heaven. Their teaching are true. Show more Show less
