Hi I'm Sam

I'm a husband, father, and a golfer living in Georgia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent most of my childhood in the Western US but I am currently living in the State of Georgia. I am married and have a very energetic 2 year old son. I work as an auditor at a large professional services firm which keeps me very busy. However, when not at work I love spending time with my family. I was an avid golfer as a teenager and try to keep up my game whenever I get a chance. I also enjoy playing basketball and watching college football.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are devout Mormons and I was raised in the Mormon faith. At the age of 8 I decided to be baptized. Although I was young, that decision has had a profound impact on my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me a better understanding and perspective on life. It has brought me a lot of peace and happiness especially during challenging times. The older I get the more I am able to appreciate what my parents taught me as a child. As I strive to do what is right and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, I find that I am much happier and develop a better understanding of why following His example is so important. One of the greatest sources of joy in my life is my family. I love spending time with them whenever I get a chance. Knowing that the family is ordained of God, is part of the purpose of life, and can extend beyond the grave is very comforting and helps me understand why our families can bring us so much joy. I am grateful for the decision I made to be baptized. Life can be difficult at times but God has given us His Spirit and has called prophets and apostles on earth to help us understand his plan for us and how to be happy.

How I live my faith

My family and I attend a local congregation near my home each Sunday. I have felt very welcome in every congregation I have attended and I have made many great friends. There is no paid ministry and the members assist each other by performing various responsibilities in the Church. I currently manage the finances of our local congregation. I also teach a Sunday School lesson on a monthly basis and occasionally will give a talk to the entire congregation. As a family, we we try to pray and read the scriptures together daily.
