Hi I'm Brett

I am a husband and a dad to 4 kids. I have lived all over the US, but chose to raise my family in Kentucky. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a graduate of BYU and University of Louisville. I've been married since '95 to my best friend. We are raising four kids together and we all have a great time together. We love to hike, bike, swim, go geocaching, and once in a while they convince me to go sleep overnight in the woods. We are active in school activities and kids sports and always attend the games to route each other on as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church. However, over the years I have definitely gained my own personal witness that it is true. I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, and as a husband and father. Without the gospel, life would be much harder to understand, and much harder to deal with difficult trials and losses. Being able to study the bible along side other inspired scriptures, like the Book of Mormon, brings a peace into my life, and I can see it bring a peace into my children's lives as well.

How I live my faith

As a family, we attend church every Sunday, read scriptures together every morning before school, and say regular prayers together as a family morning and night. Every Monday night is reserved as a family night where we have a lesson, game, and always a snack when its over. I have worked with the teenagers of our church in one way or another in the church for many years now. I love their enthusiasm and love of life. It's tricky being the adult who has to keep things rolling and within the bounds of safety, but its great to turn over the planning and execution responsibilities to a bunch of teenagers and watch them take charge.
