Hi I'm Atrena

I'm a mother of 3, a boy and twin girls! I have a masters degree but I choose to be a stay at home mom!

About Me

I'm married to my complete opposite but we compliment each other so perfectly! I'm talkative, he's quiet. I'm bossy, he's passive. I'm organized, he's a mess. We do have a lot in common also. We both love to wakeboard, snowboard, play games, and we love our kids beyond measure!  If there is one thing I know how to do, it's work. I put my self though college as a waitress and got my teaching degree. I taught elementary school for 2 years while at the same time working 2 part-time jobs and completing my Masters degree. Life was busy and it hasn't slowed down. I now am a stay at home Mom and am as busy as ever! Being a stay at home mom is the most challenging yet most rewarding career out there! I believe nothing can replace a Mother's influence in the home.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both joined the church at the age of 13 so I was blessed to be raised in the gospel. At 16 I wanted to know for myself if the Book of Mormon was true and for the first time I read the entire book by myself and prayed to know of it's truthfulness. I gained my own testimony of the Book of Mormon and strive to strengthen that testimony daily.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday and serving in various capacities. In the past few years I have been able to serve as a youth leader, a teacher for 4 year olds, an instructor for an adult class, an activity leader for 8-11 year old girls, and as part of the facilities maintenance crew. I also have the opportunity to meet with a few women each month to see how they are doing and share a spiritual message with them. I try to teach my children the gospel of Jesus Christ and am trying to help them form habits that will help them develop a personal relationship with their Savior and Father in Heaven. Christ spent his life teaching and serving others and I think we should try to do the same.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are used to seal families together. My mother's first pregnancy was twins and they died shortly after birth. It was a devastating time for my parents but they were sealed together in the temple which means their children are also sealed to them. The knowledge that their children were sealed to them gave my parents the strength to get through this difficult time. It also allows me to look forward to the day when I will meet brother and sister and be reunited as a family again.  Show more Show less
