Hi I'm Ashley Mitchell

I am Ashley. I am a thirty something writer, artist, birth mom and a self proclaimed Big Tough Girl™.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. I am an artist and a writer. I grew up in the church but did not discover my own testimony and true conversion to this gospel until I was 30 years old. After finding myself pregnant, placing a baby boy for adoption and battling substance abuse I felt a GREAT desire to become closer to my Savior. As I took the missionary discussions with my husband I grew an unshakable testimony of the basic principles of this amazing Gospel. I have never looked back. I love this work, I am in a constant state of repentance and I know I am never walking this journey alone. My Father and Savior know me intimately and I am so blessed to have them in my corner. I am not perfect but through the perfect plan I can overcome all things. This Gospel has truly changed my life and I could never survive AND thrive without the light it brings! I will stand as a witness. I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a thirty something member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Mormon. I am also many other things but that is the most important thing in my life because without that I don’t have my family that I love and cherish, I don’t have my organization that serves my soul, I don’t have my beautiful home and my many temporal blessings, I don’t have my talents and gifts that I have been blessed with. All things that I enjoy in my life come from my Savior and my Father in Heaven. Without them, without this gospel none of the above are possible.

How I live my faith

I have a great testimony of missionary work. I am a witness of the power of the spirit of conversion. I have I have a great testimony in my Eternal Family. I am a witness of family coming together, of being sealed for eternity. I have experienced it myself-being sealed to my husband, daughter and my son. I have created an eternal family through my sacrifice as a birth mother through adoption. I have witnessed it in the lives of my parents and many other family members. This is the work, the plan of happiness. Our families will be together forever. I have a great testimony of the Atonement. I am a witness of the sacrifice that was made for me by my Savior and brother, Jesus Christ. I will spend my days trying to repay my part of the pain that was inflicted upon him. I am a sinner, I am not perfect, but I am loved unconditionally and he knows my heart.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Ashley Mitchell
I love this little clip from Gordon B. Hinckley and I think it sums it up. As times continue to change and progress I am saddened by the "women of the church" not fully having an understanding of the GREAT and SACRED role that they play in the forward movement of the gospel during these last days. I know with all of my heart and soul my role as a woman in this church. I know how highly respected and treasured I am in the church. I also know the great role of being a GODDESS that will be coming to me in the Lord's time. There are few things in this life more sacred than the role of a MOTHER, and that is given to women only. That should tell you right there. I know how much my Savior cherished the little children, and I am honored to be a Steward over these little souls until the time has come for us to return with Him again! Ashley Mitchell. What are Mormon temples used for?

Ashley Mitchell
I have a great testimony of the Temple. I am a witness of the work that is being done. I have been there and continue to go there. I have done the work, I have felt the spirit of those waiting, praying over us as we perform their work. The veil is thin, and they are with us. I know that the Temple is the Lord’s House. I know that there is much that I do not understand of the work but I know in my soul that the work must continue. I have a great testimony in the process. I am a witness of the process of the organization of this church. I know that things are prepared and set-up the way they are for a reason. I know that I must continue to have faith in the process, to trust the process and I will never be led astray. I will continue to remain worthy to hold a temple recommend and go as often as time will allow. I will stand as a witness. I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it and I love it. Show more Show less
