Hi I'm Launa

I'm a friend, a roommate, an elementary school teacher, and a mormon. :

About Me

I'm an elementary school teacher. I've been teaching for seven years. I absolutely love my students and the opportunity I have to be with them each day. In my "spare" time, I love to read, play the piano, spend time with my family, and hang out with my roommates.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the joy and stability it brings me in life. Belonging to God's true church is the greatest blessing I have. The Holy Ghost bears witness to me again and again that this gospel is true. My Heavenly Father and My Savior are everything to me, and I do my best to show my gratitude to them by remaining true to the covenants I made to them at baptism.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in worship services each week. In addition to visiting sisters in my congregation each month, I get to serve by teaching in my congregation's nursery class each week. These amazing children, age 18 months to 3 years old, teach me such patience and joy!

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Launa
Baptism is a saving ordinance, necessary to return to God's presence. It is the way we join God's church, and we make covenants to always remember Our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ when we are baptized. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Launa
It's true that women do not hold the priesthood, but we have the opportunity to be blessed by the priesthood, just the same as men. Women have many opportunities to lead in the mormon church. We have the great opportunity to serve in our women's organization, and also to work with the children and young woman. Show more Show less
