Hi I'm Brian

I live in Mississippi. I'm a Spine and Sports physician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four kids and a wonderful wife who "holds it all together". Everything I do is for them. I love playing sports. I love watching and coaching my kids in their sports leagues. I chose a career in Spine and Sports Medicine which allows me to work with athletes. I haven't had much time to develop hobbies but I do enjoy weightlifting and exercise (time-permitting), visiting historical sites, studying history (especially the Revolutionary War and Civil War), and occasionally playing real-time strategy computer games. I am looking forward to developing skills in woodworking, playing the guitar, golf, and radio-controlled airplanes.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Christ lives. I know that He is my Redeemer. When He came to earth, He established His church on the earth with priesthood authority to act in His name when He would be gone. After He suffered for the sins of the world, was crucified, resurrected, and ascended to heaven to be with His Father, this priesthood authority was lost. I know that this priestood authority has been restored to the earth through John the Baptist and subsequently, Peter, James and John to a young boy, Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was commanded to establish His church again on earth. For over 1600-1700 years, God has been preparing the earth for the return of His church. I know that it has been restored and is now The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I testify that all who believe in Christ as their Savior are correct. However, we must be willing to follow Him and search for the full truth which I believe has been restored in this church. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to teach youth and adults about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have worked with the scouting program to build values and morals in young men. I love to visit families in their homes and leave uplifting messages. I love to participate in service projects. I try to be the best I can be but realize that I have long way to go. However, I know that one way to improve myself and become more like my Savior is to serve others. As cliche' as this may sound, I find great joy in caring for the needs of others. My priority will always be caring for my family. I have found that part of caring for my family is showing my kids that serving others is Christ-like and will bring us happiness in this life.
