Hi I'm Alan

I was born in Utah but spent much of my time growing up on a cattle range in Oregon. I now live near Provo, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a young boy, I grew up on a farm, first in northern Utah and then in Eastern Oregon. I enjoy riding and working with horses and being in the out-of-doors. I now live in Utah where I work as a mechanical engineer. My wife is Deborah and we are the parents of four children and nine grandchildren. I also work as an assistant scoutmaster for 11 year old scouts.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. I have enjoyed being a member of the Church all of my life and feel that I have been greatly blessed in my personal and my family life. I have studied, fasted, and prayed to know the truthfulness of this, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that it is true; it is the Gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth. It answers the basic questions of our existence--where we came from, why we are here upon the earth, and where we go and what we do after this life. Through baptism and with the gift of the Holy Ghost conferred upon us, we can go through this life living with faith in Jesus Christ and look forward to never-ending happiness in the Kingdom of God with our families.

How I live my faith

I have had many experiences in the Church which have all help me to grow and help others. I served for two years as a full time missionary. I have worked with the elderly and the young. Most adults, young and old, have the opportunity to be a home teacher of visiting teacher to visit the home of members to help them continue on the path that leads to eternal life.
