Hi I'm Rafe

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Of the many roles I play, the most important are father, husband, church member and provider. I have five great kids three boys and two girls who keep us busy with athletics and dance activities. I am married to my best friend. As a church member I strive to be the best I can and apply the teachings of Christ in my daily life. As my family's provider I work as a finance manager for a large multinational corporation.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon provides direction and meaning in my life. The teachings of the gospel help me to understand who I am and why I am here on earth. The church helps me to know how to raise my family in a world of uncertainty. It provides me personal peace during times of trial and difficulties. I have always been a member of the church and have been taught the doctrine of the gospel since I was young. Even though I have always been taught the gospel I had to decide for myself if I was going to continue to follow the teachings of the gospel after I left my parents home. One of the most important experiences in helping me make this decision was serving a mission for the church in Sao Paulo Brazil. During the time I had the opportunity to really see how the gospel helps good men and women become better. I saw the hope it gave people as they came to embrace the teachings of our Savior. After serving for two years I returned home with the resolution to always live the gospel and be the best I can. I continue to be a member of the church because the teachings help me to be a better person and I know I am on a path that brings true peace and happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by first trying to be the best person I can every day. This includes studying the scriptures daily and teaching my family the principles of the gospel. I also strive to help those around me. As part of my church membership I have the opportunity to help lead the local ward congregation and ensure the well being of the members of the church here in the area where I live. I spend time going to member's homes and visiting them as well as frequently teaching Sunday School classes at church.
