Hi I'm Richard

I grew up in Los Angeles, CA. I joined the Church in 1985. I have found true happiness as a mormon.

About Me

I heard about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the first time in 1980, San Salvador, El Salvador. I was only able to attend church services once. I joined the Church 5 years later in Los Angeles,CA. I always felt a thirst for spiritual things, so when I was introduced to The Book of Mormon, I knew that God wanted to share with one of his children the Plan of Salvation. I started reading the book in 3 Nephi 11, as I read how Jesus Christ visited the people that lived in the Americas and declared his gospel to them, it touched my heart, I knew then by the power of the Holy Spirit that those things were true. I was baptized 2 weeks later. My life is complete with the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have learned that families are meant to be forever. I know it is true, I know that God lives, Jesus Christ is our Savior, the scriptures will bring peace into our lives and Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the promise given in the Book of Mormon on Moroni 10:3-5, I knew then that this powerful message was true and that God had answered my prayer. I then decided to be baptized.

How I live my faith

I served as a Missionary in New York for two years. I served as a Bishop for almost seven years. I continue to serve today helping others to come unto Jesus Christ in my community.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Richard
Family is the most important organization in God's plan. I enjoy spending time with my family, they are always there for me. I am so gratefull I can be with them for eternity. I want to be a better person each day so I can deserve that privilege. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Richard
The Holy Ghost will confort you in times of trial, it will testify to you of the Father and the Son, it will teach you and remind you the things that Jesus Christ has taught in the scriptures. It will be your companion as long as you keep God's commandments. Show more Show less
