Hi I'm Laura

I'm a wife, I'm a mother, I'm a student, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful man, a returned missionary, a student getting my master's degree in social work, and a mother. Being a wife and mother are the two greatest jobs on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God the Father and his son Jesus Christ appeared to the boy Joseph Smith to restore the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon, along with the Bible, is the word of God. I am a Mormon because I know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and he continues to speak to us through a modern prophet, Thomas S. Monson, today. I am a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ is my Savior. He paid the price for my sins and understands my burdens, pains, and sufferings. Because he died, I will live again. I am a Mormon because I want to have an eternal family and know that is possible through covenant keeping and obedience here on this earth. I am a Mormon because it brings me happiness that can't be found elsewhere. I am a Mormon because it helps me be who I really am - a daughter of God. I am a Mormon because I know this is where God wants me to be. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is where the fulness of the gospel is found and I don't just want a slice of the pie - I want the whole thing.

How I live my faith

In Moroni 7:45-46 (a scripture found in the Book of Mormon) it reads: 45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail— I try and live my faith by being a woman of charity. As I try to incorporate charity, in all the many ways it can be manifested, I find I continually fall short. However, the gospel of Jesus Christ is not for people who are already perfect. It is for those, like me, who are simply striving to become so. And, if I "have not charity", I am NOTHING. Seeking after charity and striving to become filled with perfect charity is how I am living my faith.
