Hi I'm Kayla.

I was born in Japan. I love sunshine, green grass, crystal clear water, and good books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm at college studying English. I love to read, write, snowboard, wakeboard, watch movies, and hang out with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the great blessing to be raised in the faith by very committed parents. As I grew up, they taught me about Jesus Christ, about the restoration of the Gospel in the latter-days through the prophet Joseph Smith, about the scriptures, about modern day prophets, and about the accompanying principles and ordinances. I learned to study these things for myself, and to pray for the Spirit's confirmation of their truthfulness. I have felt the Spirit witness to me that this, the LDS Church, is the only true church of Jesus Christ on the earth, that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he truly did translate an ancient record that became the Book of Mormon, and that that book is a true testament of Jesus Christ. I have felt the Spirit testify to me that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet today, and that he leads and guides this church under the direction of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that Christ suffered for our sins so that we could repent, that He was crucified and resurrected, and that He lives today and loves us. I know that through His atonement, His resurrection, and temple covenants, we can be with Him and with our families forever. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have of the Gospel, for the comfort that it gives me, and for the blessings that the Lord has promised to us if we follow His commandments.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day by continually studying and learning more about the gospel. In my ward, I've been assigned to the compassionate service committee, which gives me the opportunity to be aware of the needs of the girls that live nearby me, and then try to take care of those needs. In the past, I've also had the opportunity to be able to teach my peers about gospel subjects. As I've fulfilled my responsibilities, I've been truly blessed!
