Hi I'm Bruce Roundy

I am a father of six now-grown children and a professor of natural resource management at Brigham Young University.

About Me

My experience as a child, crossing the desert from Reno, Nevada to visit my garndparents in southern Utah, gave me a great desire to understand and help manage the earth. I love applied science which helps us better manage our earth and its resources. Both faith and science make great sense to me. There is a way that both work very well as we come to understand and apply them. Neither understands everything, but the best of both of these work in the hope for spreading goodness with a greater purpose in mind.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church and gospel of Jesus Christ have blessed my life by wonderful teachings. As I have tried to know and live them, they have brought joy, direction, and a confirmation of their truth. These teachings have helped us and our children deal with the challenges and opportunities of life. Knowing and depending on the Saviour gives a way to meet and find purpose in the challenges. Through personal experience, I know the Saviour knows, loves, and helps me. This knowledge is the basis of everything good in my life.

How I live my faith

My wife and I just finished serving at the Provo, Utah LDS Missionary Training Center. We were greatly blessed by the wonderful young people there preparing for missions. I feel a spirit of faith and dedication, as well as a closeness to the Savior in the lives of these missionaries.

Are Mormons Christians?

Bruce Roundy
Christians are true followers of Jesus Christ which means they believe and try to live His teachings. I have seen many people of different faiths do this. If you really want to know if Mormons are Christians, observe the life of a faithful member. I personally have seen many Mormons live His teachings because they love Him and they love those whom He told us to love and serve. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Bruce Roundy
Since we believe that all of us can recieve eternal blessings through gospel ordinances, I have personally been involved in providing those ordinances in our temples, such as baptism for my ancestors. I have felt a spirit of love in finding information about my ancestors to do temple work for them. I recognize that many of them made some sacrifices that directly benefit me today. Learning about them has made me want to be a better person and to do something for them. Show more Show less
