Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Hmmm. I am a Mormon for many reasons...but all of these reasons seem to boil down to one basic fact: that this is where I find peace and happiness. The cool thing about life is that we all come from somewhere. We all have a story. Hopes, dreams, problems, desires, yearnings... With all of these varied factors, it's easy to question our meaning, our significance, our impact, our path... The thing I love about this Church is that each and every one of these worries, questions, doubts, and aspirations are answered.

How I live my faith

Being a human being is such a beautiful adventure! How amazing it is that we, as human beings, have the ability to feel and experience emotions so deeply! While life is an inspiring, breathtaking journey, it is not an easy process. Nor is it at all times comfortable. Day by day the experience differs, through which we learn. Experience has taught me that the importance, the brilliance of life lies not so much in the content as in the outcome. The Gospel, or the teachings of Jesus Christ, teach us how to safely anchor our souls and weave the threads of our daily experiences into a beautiful tapestry of joy. I try to face each situation in life with greater clarity, peace, and understanding. I struggle to achieve this, because I am human. But, I know that it is possible through the far reaching power and influence of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For me, it's a matter of looking to Christ in all things. This is why I am a missionary. I want people to feel the same joy I have experienced through the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I have seen this knowledge change lives. It has changed not only my life, but the lives of my family, my friends, and the amazing people here in Massachusetts. When we come to know our Savior personally, we come to understand our true nature and purpose here on earth. We come to understand our importance as children of God and the role we play in this beautiful process of life. A few examples of how I live my faith are these: I have devoted 18 months to serving the Lord as a missionary, to spread his message of hope and joy. I attend church services every Sunday. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I strive to help others, to give a helping hand the way that Jesus Christ would if he were here personally on the earth. I try to become better every day by being more positive, more helpful, more loving, more faithful... I'm definitely not perfect. I just try, and Heavenly Father helps me serve others and feel joy in my efforts.
