Hi I'm Sarah

I am a journalist, a blogger and the wife of a traveling medical student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town with friends who felt like family and family who felt like friends. Since my earliest memory, I wanted to be an investigative journalist in the mold of Lois Lane - adventure and all. Years, tears and a lot of hard work later, I achieved my dream working at the city news desk. It wasn't everything that I thought it would be, it was beter. I loved my job, but something was missing. I had drifted away from the religion I was raised in. Then, one day, I decided to tag along on a church campout, where I met the man of my dreams. We were happily married in the temple for time and all eternity. Then, he got an acceptance letter from St. George's University Medical School in Grenada. He would finally fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor, but our travels would mean that I would have to give up my career. Although I did not want to go, the answer to our sincere prayers was unmistakable. We needed to go. I am now focusing on providing emotional and spiritual support to my husband for a few years before returning to the states and picking up my career again. For now, we are enjoying just being together and learning what it takes to make an eternal marriage in Grenada.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living the teachings of the church brings me true happiness. I feel a tangible change in my behavior when I attend LDS services and take the sacrament worthily. I am kinder to others, I work harder on personal growth and achievement and I make better decisions. By reading the Book of Mormon, I have felt Heavenly Father's love for all His children across the continents. By living this religion, I have received answers to my prayers, protection from some heartaches and comfort in times of trial. I know my Savior lives and loves me. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have taught Sunday School for several years in our church. I appreciate the intellectual and spiritual growth that comes after preparing and studying the lessons before church each week.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

I have two siblings who have sacrificed two years of their lives to devote themselves entirely to sharing the gospel. They simply want people to have a chance to enjoy the happiness that we have known. Show more Show less
