Hi I'm David

I grew up in a family of 9 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with 5 wonderful kids (4 boys and 1 girl). I enjoy a variety of sports but especially love college sports including football and basketball. I also enjoy camping, hiking, fishing and biking. I have recently started participating in Triathlons and have completed 3 so far. I work for a fortune 500 company in their HR department and finished my education a few years ago by going back to school to get an MBA.  A few unique things about me would include the fact that I was baptized in the Jordan River by my father when I was 8 years old. I lived in Chile for 2 years as a missionary. I saved money for my mission by delivering newspapers starting at age 8 which taught me the value of hard work and money.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of my belief in my Savior Jesus Christ. I lost my older brother to a motorcycle accident when I was 13 and was forced to ponder the meaning of life and if I would ever see my brother again. My belief in a Savior and a belief I would see my brother again was the comfort that I needed during that difficult time. I love my family and the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that my family is enternal and does not end with physical death. The Bible and The Book of Mormon stand as strong witnesses of a God who loves us and who sent his only begotten son as an example. I have read both and know them to be true. Both teach true principles that will bless our lives when applied. The gospel of Jesus Christ is one of service and charity. My family has been blessed by both giving and receiving service from those who truly followers of the Savior and his teachings. I testify that God loves us and answers prayers. I also testify that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God much like those of the Old Testament and that a living prophet is on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I serve in the community by assisting at schools, local charities and our scout troop. I currently serve in a leadership capcity in the church (Bishopric) where I am intimately involved with youth activities, weekly services, events, service opportunities and more. This engagement has led to wonderful opportunities to see the Lord's hand at work and to be a part of his eternal work. It is busy but rewarding.
