Hi I'm Kody

I'm a Southern Man, an Outdoorsman, and I'm Mormon

About Me

I am now serving my mission in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission and love every minute of it. I am from South Mississippi and I grew up in a small town named Petal. I kept myself pretty busy growing up which is a good thing. Hunting and fishing is my life. I absolutely love the outdoors and I have hunted ever since I was just a little bitty kid. We travel around quite a bit hunting different game white tail, elk, hogs, even bow fishing. I literally hunt and fish all year round. If I wasn't hunting I was in the gym training for mixed martial arts. My cousin really got me interested in mixed martial arts... specifically muay thai and brazilian jujitsu. It is a huge rush and great learning experience being able to train and step in the cage. I love the south because of the people, the hospitality, and definetly the food! I have loved growing up in the bible belt of Mississippi because it has been a strength to me. The gospel of Jesus Christ is what has impacted me the most and is my foundation.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because it is a great life style to have! Growing up in the Bible belt was a good thing for me. It really was a strength to me because I was constantly telling people our beliefs. I was born in the church but, wasn't truly converted at a young age. It was fun for me to go to different churches with my friends but, when I went with them I was really searching for truth. Although I walked out of many sermons uplifted and edified i knew that something was still missing. What stuck out to me the most was the way that Jesus Christ himself set up and organized his church. Meaning if Christ walked the earth today his church would be set up the same way as he always had it. His church had apostles and prophets. The question I asked was there were prophets in the Old Testament so why would there not be a living prophet today? The prophets in the Old Testament prepared the people for Jesus Christ to come. As we all know Christ did come and died for us. Now that Christ is gone we have prophets on the earth today to prepare the people for Christ to come once again. That as well and reading, pondering, earnestly praying and pleading with the Lord the know the truthfulness of this gospel is how I recieved my answer! I have not one doubt in my heart and soul of the truthfulness of this Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love this Gospel and the soothing peace and joy it brings!

How I live my faith

At a bit of a young age I decided to live what i preach or live what the gospel taught. I always thought it was important to treat everyone with respect no differently than i would like to be treated. It just came down to being an example as a believer myself. Living the principles and applying them in my life has brought more true happiness! The only way to know is to just do it. Of course I have made several mistakes but, knowing how to utilize our Savior has been able to help purify me.
