Hi I'm Ty

I am an Actor at heart with a love for the Lord that motivates me to serve him. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am 21 years old, and I am currently serving in the Idaho Pocatello Mission, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have been on my mission for a little over a year, and I have loved every minute of it. I am so glad I decided to serve a mission. It is quite possibly the best decision I have ever made in my life, thus far. My life before my mission consisted mostly of performing on stage. I love acting and singing, and I have been performing for as long as I can remember. Acting is a passion of mine, and hopefully I will pursue acting as a career after my mission, but at the moment my life is dedicated to the service of my Heavenly Father in proclaiming his gospel to the good people in Idaho!

Why I am a Mormon

The Holy Ghost has confirmed to my heart that this church is true. And its only an answer from God that would give me the confidence to believe the things that I do. I grew up in the church, as most people on this website has, but for me its been through the power of the Holy Ghost that I have been able to pursue this religion more fully in my life. My friends and family have played a very influencial role in my personal growth of my testimony, but my answer from God that this is true is what "sealed the deal" for me. Thats why I am a "Mormon".

How I live my faith

By keeping the commandments and trying my hardest to live the kind of life Christ would live. I am also living my faith by serving a mission, and inviting others to learn more about our Savior Jesus Christ, and his gospel. I find alot of joy in serving the Lord, and I feel that it is the most important thing for a person to do in order to find the most fulfillment in life and to gain salvation.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes, most definetly. I personally feel that my life would be a lot different if I didnt believe (and know) that there is a prophet on the earth today. My life wouldnt have specific direction and purpose as it does now. I would be missing a big chunk of guidance and revalation for life as we speak. Sure, the scriptures are revealed sources of truth and personal revalation, but they cant warn me of the pit falls that satan has set up to try and take me down. I am sure in ancient times, the people loved the scriptures and read them diligently. But I think nothing in the scriptures could have warned the people about the flood that would engulf the earth unless Noah (The Prophet) came about and warned everyone of what was to come. God works through prophets so he can warn us of the "floods" that are coming our way. He did it in ancient times, and he does it today. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

We believe this message that we have, and the truths that we claim are very important. In fact, we belive this message to be the most important message in the world. Thats why we proselyte, because we want everyone to experience the happiness we have experinced through this restored gospel. Just think about it, if you found something amazing, life changing in-fact, that would bring someone the fullest measure of happiness and peace in their life, wouldnt you want everyone to know about it and to experience it? We feel the same way! Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes. The Bible is a very important and essential religious book in our standard works. It gives us, as it does anyone else, a clear view of the character and the ministry and work of Jesus Christ. It is a very precious text that has withstood time and years to stand today as a shining witness of Jesus Christ. Its through the Bible that the Prophet Joesph Smith recived the guidance from James 1:5 to ask of God which church is true, only to the recieve the first vision. So, yes, of course we regard the Bible as the word of God. It is everything to us as a religion. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is a very special gift that a person can only recieve after first being baptized by a worthy male with the Priesthood. One blessing I have had through-out my life because of the Holy ghost is being comforted in times of need, and having truth confirmed to my soul through the thoughts and impressions given through the Holy Ghost. Overall, the Holy Ghost is promised to be our constant companion through-out our life as we are obediant to Gods commandments. Show more Show less
