Hi I'm Donnie

I grew up in a small town in Missouri, I am 21, and I love to play games with my friends. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to play games and have a good time. I like to play video games especially and hang out with my friends. I love to spend time with my family and to read books. I am the youngest of 6 kids and I am currently on a mission for my Church and for my Savior. There are 3 boys and 3 girls in my family. I am also the 4th to go on a mission. I am glad I chose to serve and I am having tons of fun and glad that I have another 9 months left on my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because in all honesty God told me that it was His kingdom once again restored on the earth. I am a member because the way the Book of Mormon makes me feel. I love this gospel and the hope it brings me. I am not perfect nor will I ever be so but I am going to try my hardest to follow the Savior and trust in him to make up the rest.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus. I try to love every one around me and try to be everyones friend, no matter what walk of life they are from. Everyone needs to be loved and shown that there is a better way. The biggest way I live my faith is by doing what i am currently doing: Serving a Mission to bring the Gospel to everyone, which involves all the things previously mentioned.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Donnie
We believe that after we die we go to a place called the spirit world. This is a waiting period that is a time tfor those who never recieved the gospel or performed the neccisary ordinances to enter into the kingdom of God. There they can recive that knowledge and someone here in mortality will do thier ordinances for them and they can exept it, or not. Then after that waiting period is over we will all be reserected and then be judged, Resurrection is when the body and the soul are reunited. After we are judged we will be rewarded accordinly and recieve our place in one of the Kingdoms of Glory. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Donnie
We baptize the newest members of our Church because Baptism is an essential part of Christ's Gospel. There is Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. We are baptized to Follow Christ. He was baptized and He was Perfect. "And now, if the Lamb of God He being holy, should have need to be baptized by water, to fulfill all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy, to be baptized, yea even by water!" -2 Nephi 31.5- We also believe that we need to be baptized by the Priesthood Authority of God. That is why Christ went to John the Baptist instead of to some other person. John was given that Authority by an Angel when he was a baby. So Christ again set the Example for us, by going to one Holding the Priesthood to be Baptized. This is amazing to me. Christ loved us so much He put forth the way and marked the path that we may be able to return to our Father in Heaven. "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God." -St. John 3.5- He has revealed the way for us to accomplish this essential part of his plan and to make our way back.  Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Donnie
Family is so important because it is the basic unit of Mortality. God commanded Adam and Eve to have a Family and it is our right and Privilege to have one as well. I love my Family very much and I want to spend the rest of Eternity with them. That is another reason why Family is so important, we believe that they can last forever. I don't see why family isn't important to everyone, not just members of the Church. Families are where kids learn their first lessons and grow the most. It is in the home where the future leaders of tomorrow are taught and raised, shouldn't Family be important to everyone? I personally believe that if the world had better Families, it would be a better happier place to live. Show more Show less
