Hi I'm Bret

I'm an elementary school librarian, I sing with a big choir, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an elementary school librarian, and love to read, watch Abbott & Costello movies, and discover new music. I'm a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and have had many wonderful experiences meeting people when we go on tour.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon, but there came a time when I decided that I needed to discover whether the Church was really all it claimed to be. I decided to read The Book of Mormon on my own, and had many powerful experiences that testified to me of it's truthfulness. Besides that, I've had the opportunity to work and serve in many different capacities in my church callings, and I've seen the remarkable goodness and love of its members - Christ himself stated that loving one another is the main criteria for judging whether people are true followers of Him. I've seen and been blessed by miracles as well - quiet ones, not trumpeted to the world, that show me that the power of God is manifest in the Priesthood of this church. I know that God lives. I know that Jesus Christ is His Son. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that God loves me, and forgives sins. I know that God hears our prayers, and answers them.

How I live my faith

The gospel has taught me many things about how to be happier - I've learned to bridle my tongue (not always the case); I've learned about the power and peace that comes from forgiveness; and I've found great joy in serving in many various callings - I've been a leader in a men's organization, a Sunday School Teacher, a Choir director, a Church magazine drive chairman, and currently serve in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (I sing 2nd Bass) - it's all good, and serving shows me how the Gospel is supposed to work in our lives - service, loving, giving, sharing our talents and testimonies, and lifting each other up is the reason for our being on earth.
