Hi I'm Taffin

I love my family and a good book. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four kids in my family and I can honestly say that the four of us are best friends. My family lives in Michigan. Some of my hobbies back home were: reading Star Wars novels, playing video games, wrestling with my little brother, playing all kinds of fun and crazy games with my family, etc. Before I came on my mission I went to college for one year and studied geography. After my mission, I plan on returning to college and finishing my degree. I hope to get a career involving map analysis or something similar to that.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a long line of Mormons. Most of my ancestors have been members of the Church since the mid 1800s. So I had the wonderful opportunity to grow up in a Mormon home. I truly love my family and can honestly say that they are my best and most enjoyable friends. Growing up in this environment helped me to see the blessings that come from strong righteous families starting at a very young age. Our family has often read from the scriptures together and has always made an effort to attend church. I have always been blessed to have the wonderful examples of my parents and my siblings. I have absolutely no doubt that the reason my family is as happy as it is, is becuase of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time two year mission for the Church. I was called to serve in the Utah St. George Mission starting in July 2010. Serving a full time mission has been one of the all time greatest experiences of my life! As missionaries we devote our lives to sharing the wonderful truths of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are willing to learn more of Him. We often perform other forms of service as well. I strive to live my faith by trying to emulate the Savior Jesus Christ in all that I do. I love to read the scriptures which include the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and the words of the living prophets.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Taffin
As a current Mormon missionary I can sincerely say that I proselyte because I love God's children! As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon church), we have the incredible blessing of the possessing the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same church that Jesus Christ himself set up when he was on the Earth. It is the same church that was revealed to Adam, Abraham, Moses and others. It has again been restored to the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Our Father in Heaven wants all of His children to be able to enjoy the great and eternal blessings that come from living His gospel. He has commanded us to share this great message with everyone that we can. I am honored to be able to participate in sharing the message of the restoration of the Gospel. Show more Show less
