Hi I'm Ian

I love trumpets, cats, and video games. I also love serving the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in San Diego, just an average kid. I grew up with three older sisters and my mom and my dad. I went to college for a few semester before I made the decision to serve a full-time mission. I am currently serving a mission in Massachusetts speaking Haitian Creole and I absolutely love the people here.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so I never really had a chance to have the Holy Ghost give me a witness that the church was true until later in my life. I always went to church, but I was never 100 percent sure that it was true. That didn't come until I was taking a Book of Mormon class at school. Our teacher asked us a really profound question If you were there with the Nephites when Christ came, what would you say to him? I realized at that moment that Christ had died for me and I had given nothing back. It was then that I decided to serve a mission and help the Lord. Since then, my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel has increased so much and I am so thankful to the Lord for opening my eyes.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving a full-time mission. That means that I walk the streets, meeting new people, and telling them about the Message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I do this because I have a love for this Gospel and a love for the people I teach. I want others to have the same converting experiences that I have had so that they can know that they can live with their families in God's presence for time and all eternity. We also work with church members to help them build their testimonies as well.

What is the First Vision?

The First Vision is the experience that Joseph Smith had when he was a young boy. He was confused as to which church to join, so he decided it would be best to ask God. He went out into a grove of trees, knelt down, and began to pray. During this prayer, God and Jesus Christ came to Joseph and spoke to him. This event is known as the First Vision. Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

President Thomas S. Monson said that it was a priesthood duty for young men to serve a full-time mission. It is still their choice, but the learning experinces that you get from serving a mission are invaluable. President Monson also said that, since they do not have the priesthood responsibility, young women are welcome to serve missions if they choose to. Show more Show less
