Hi I'm Travis

I grew up in Arizona. I love to be active in sports. I find serving other's rewarding. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Gilbert Arizona and despite the warm weather I enjoy playing sports outside. I am 21 years old. I grew up with a veritiy of friends and influences. My parents seperated when I was only 3 years old and when I was about six my Dad re-married. With these events came some trials and challenges which brings me to the fact that I couldn't have made it as well as I have without faith in Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

What is my purpose in life? I honestly can say its not quite as simple to be a Mormon as it is to follow the worlds acceptible standards, but I can also say I know our absolute purpose and potential in this life. When we decide to follow Jesus Christ we choose to do the things He would do. We can find understanding of our purpose as we follow the commandments given to us by our Heavenly Father. These commandments can be found in the scriptures. The scriptures were written as the spirit of God moved upon prophets long ago. Many things change over time without prophets and apostles who are called of God, this is why a modern day Prophet has been called of God, our Loving Heavenly Father, to bring forth lost understanding of our purpose here. When you open your heart and desire to follow Christ you can know for yourself what God expects of you.

How I live my faith

When I was younger I participated in many service projects which helped me build character and a appreciation for what I had in my everyday life. Most of these activities were organized through my church leaders. I know that my leaders had a desire to serve God and one way they were called to serve Him was by helping the youth have important experiences that would help each one grow closer to the Lord, Jesus Christ. In many ways the Mormon church has prepared me and many others to be successful and responsible throughout our journey in life.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Travis
Good question. Here is another good question: Do other christians worship Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, or Jeremiah? No I have never heard that they do. Neither do we worship Joseph Smith, we Only worship God our Heavenly Father and it is only through the Savior Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Travis
This is the first time God and Jesus Showed themselves to man since the apostasy or rejection of Jesus Christ and his followers. This is also the beginning of The Truth (100% Pure Good News) being restored to the children of men. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Travis
Mormons believe that life here is a time to prepare for eternal life. Eternal Life is given so we can experience greater happiness and truth. We choose how much we want in the life to come by our personal commitment in following Jesus Christ and his repersenitives. Show more Show less
