Hi I'm Carolyn

I'm a grandmother, mother, wife, daughter, sister, and widow. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, meeting my husband at Brigham Young University. After graduation, we moved to Virginia and have lived the last 30 years in Georgia where we raised our six children. Four months from retiring from work, my husband collapsed in the yard and was taken to the hospital where he passed away four days later. The past few months have been very difficult as I have had to adjust to life without him. As hard as it has been, I have recognized the hand of the Lord in my life. He has not left me alone. I have felt His peace and comfort. He has blessed me with wonderful friends and family who continue to reach out to me. He has given me strength and courage to move forward in a life that I never imagined. I'm grateful for what I have learned the past few months. I have come to know and love my Savior more than ever as His Atonement has become very real to me. I know that He died that all men might live again. I know that He lives! I know His promises are sure! I also know my Heavenly Father loves me and is very aware of me. I pray daily for strength to carry on. I pray that I will live worthy of the covenants I made in the temple with my husband that will unite us for eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful family with a rich pioneer heritage. Most of my great-great-grandparents joined the church in England and crossed the plains with the pioneers. Reading of their conversions and commitment to their faith have provided an example to establish my own beliefs. Just as they had to read and study and pray for a testimony - so have I. Through the witness of the Holy Ghost, I have come to know that the teachings of the church are true. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World. He died for me. Heavenly Father is my loving Father who knows me and loves me and wants to bless me. I love the Book of Mormon because it testifies of those truths. I've learned that the priesthood has been restored and provides the saving ordinances we need to return to our Father in Heaven and live eternally as a family. Obeying the commandments and living the teachings of the Mormon faith bring me true joy.

How I live my faith

I have had amazing opportunities to serve in the church (many I would never have chosen on my own!). Whether working in the temple, with the children, the youth, or the women of the church, I have tried to welcome new opportunities to serve, knowing my love for the people will grow, as well as my love for the Savior as I try to do His will. I'm also grateful for life experiences that teach me to be more aware of others in need.
