Hi I'm Tamra

I'm a Mom & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a happy-to-be stay-at-home-mom of 3 kiddos and married to my sweetheart! I gave up a lucrative career, when my first child was 2 & my second just an infant, in order to fulfill my calling to be a mom, wife & friend 24/7. At the time, I was torn between "giving up my identity" as a successful, independent businesswoman, and doing what my heart was telling me I needed to do. For fun, I love to camp, hunt, fish & do anything outdoors with our family. I love a good challenge & strive to figure out for myself how to do everything from a technical perspective and then apply it with my own two hands (which is why I like the precision of quilting). I wouldn't trade my blessed "occupation" for the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I started wondering what "it" was that seemed to make the Mormons I knew so happy all of the time. I remember saying one day: "there's something about those Mormons. They're happy all of the time regardless of what their current circumstances are. It's almost like they know something the rest of us don't." Now I know what that "something" was that the Mormons possessed... knowledge. Through the gospel, we can know whole truth. We can walk with the Savior each day when we decide to follow His teachings & model our lives after His. Knowing who we are, where we came from and where we are going brings an incredible peace and happiness. This is why I chose to be Mormon; I chose to follow my heart and discover everything my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

How I live my faith

Each week, I volunteer in various local organizations. I also spend time creating things to donate to the Church Humanitarian Services division to help others in need around the world. I currently work with all of our ward's children in Primary. Through my work there, I've been blessed to learn through the eyes of a child. It has been a significant blessing to humble myself to see things so clearly and to understand the fundamentals of the Gospel.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Life isn't about just the time we are actively living on Earth. Time is eternal and infinite. We came here, being spirit children of our Heavenly Parents, to work through our own situations and garner learning from our free agency. After death, it is not the end. If we are faithful and obedient, we can be with our families forever. What an incredible message of hope that brings! Show more Show less
