Hi I'm Joe

I'm a missionary teaching in Boston, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a missionary currently serving in the Massachusetts Boston Mission and loving it. I grew up in Utah, and I love music. Listening, playing, composing, performing, whatever it may be, music is a big part of my life. I hope to pursue a bachelor's degree in Viola Performance when I get home from my mission (but that could be subject to change until then). In addition to viola, I play guitar and piano. After the music major, I hope to attend medical school to get an MD and be a family practitioner.

Why I am a Mormon

There are a few reasons I am a Mormon some apparent and some not so much. On an obvious note, I'm a Mormon because I was born into the church. The reason I have stayed in the church and have continued to make it a part of my life however is because of my firm belief and testimony of the Book of Mormon. I can promise anyone the same experience that I had in regards to reading the Book of Mormon and praying about if it's true. If anyone has a desire to know truth, all they simply have to do is turn to God for answers and ask him sincerely. The Book of Mormon holds a promise that no other piece of literature has at least that I'm aware of. If anyone has a desire to know that it's true, all they have to do is read it, ponder and think about it, then ask God sincerely if it's true. If the reader is sincere and honestly seeking truth, the same answer comes every time that the book is true. Because I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, because the book could not have come into existence in any other way. Once one knows that Joseph Smith is a prophet, everything else simply falls into place.

How I live my faith

I'm currently living my faith by sacrificing two years of my life to serve a full time mission. Until September of 2011, every day of my life will be teaching and talking to people about what our beliefs are and how a belief in Jesus Christ can help them find peace and direction in life.
