Hi I'm Chandler Newsome

I'm a football maniac who loves serving the Lord as a missionary! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am your every day American boy. I started playing t-ball when I was literally a toddler. As I got a little older, I became very active on the baseball diamonds around Utah. When I turned about 8 years old, I fell in love with just about every contact sport I had time to squeeze into my schedule! I went through high School with a packed schedule full of choral gigs, musical theater performances and of course... football and lacrosse. I always knew that I wanted to serve a mission. I have had many, many wonderful experiences with the spirit in my youth. Although I have not lived a perfect life, I have always lived a life with the knowledge that I would soon represent Jesus Christ and His Church as a full-time missionary. It has been a wonderful experience. I have learned many wonderful things about the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I am a truth-seeker! There are so many half truths and misconceptions in the world today. But I know that the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints is the only organization in the entire world that does not have any half truths or misconceptions. It is all true. The doctrines of the church are pure and perfect. I am so grateful that I have that knowledge. That is exactly why I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it! I have always loved sharing the truth of the gospel with those around me. I also live my faith by conforming to the way God wants me to live. I love the scriptures, and I find myself seeking to follow the example of the charcters depicted therein. By living my faith on a day to day basis, I see enormous blessings in my life. Blessings that endure longer than the instant gratification of "worldly blessings" of immorality or drugs.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Chandler Newsome
I think this is a totally appropriate question for me to answer! I am a missionary for this church. Although some of us don't choose to serve a mission, many of us do. If a brother or sister in the church asked me if he/she should serve a mission, I would without hesitation say: "Absolutely!" It is such a blessing to serve the Lord. I have heard once, that you become what you think and do all day. As His servants, our words are His words and our actions are His actions. So, while we are doing those things we are slowly, yet surely becoming more like the Saviour. So... long story short, we are not "required" but we are strongly encouraged. I've loved every minute of my service. Show more Show less
