Hi I'm Don

I'm a Husband, I'm a Father, I'm a Grandfather, I invite others to come to Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married with four children and 8 grandchildren. I have lived and was raised in the Southwest United States and served a church mission in the South Pacific. I Graduated with an Associates and a Bachelors in Accounting from Brigham Young University and the University of Texas El Paso. I also have my CPA and recently graduated with an MBA . I have recently retired from being part owner Vice President and CFO with a local company and have been teaching college online classes in Accounting and Business Management. I love to spoil my grandchildren, I enjoy sports, I swim a mile and a half most mornings, and I love to volunteer and serve when I can. Currently, my wife and I are serving a 3 year Church Mission in Southern Florida. We love this experience and those that we serve.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church although my father is a convert. I was raised with 4 other brothers and have always been active in attending church and it's activities. My testimony developed over time and the example of my parents and older brothers was instrumental in my testimony and conversion. I always beleived the Church to be true, and as I watched my brothers go on missions, I new that I was supposed to do the same. I remember the first area I served in New Zealand, my Maori companion met me at the bus and told me that we were teaching a family that was going to be baptised tomorrow. As we went to the apartment to prepare for the lesson that I was supposed to help teach, I fell to my knees and prayed to know these things were true. Was Joseph Smith really a prophet, was the Book of Mormon true, and was this Jesus Christ's true Church? I recall tears coming to my eyes as I realized that I now knew the Church is true and didn't just beleive it. Knowing that I will have my family for eternity means more than anything in this world. This is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, I KNOW he lives and loves us, and that the Atonement allows us to repent and be clean. I KNOW he died for me and you so that we can live with the Father again. The Book of Mormon answers all of life's questions concerning the principles of the Gospel, I know indeed that it is the word of God. This Gospel answers so many questions that provides answers to what makes sense in this life and the eternities.

How I live my faith

I have served in capacities where I have been in charge of congregations and a Stake (many congregations). I am currently serving as a Mission President in Southern Florida in charge of 160 missionaries who share the Gospel to those who will hear. My wife and I love the people of South Florida and look for ways to share our belief every time we can. I love to watch and associate with people who have tremendous testimonies of Jesus Christ. I love to watch their humility and their dedication to the Gospel. Serving side by side with such people in different kinds of service mirrors what the Savior has asked of us "Feed my Sheep". It is so inspirational to see people from all facts of life to embrace the Gospel and live its principles and doctrines with such tremendous convictions. I love to pray and read the scriptures daily for it increases my relationship with God, Jesus Christ and his Gospel.
