Hi I'm Mike

I'm from southern California, I'm a college student, I longboard, I make videos for fun, I live for adventures, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Names Mike. I was born and raised in southern California and just like to live life day by day. Growing up in California I loved taking up everything this place has to offer... the beach, the city, the mountains it never ends! I like long boarding, bonfires, and I'm always looking to have an adventure. I am really into video editing, the idea of taking a bunch of video clips and seeing it come to life is a thrill to me. Other then that I'm doing the college thing at BYU Idaho looking forward to the next steps in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Where do I start? When I was 7 years old two missionaries came to our door and taught my family the gospel. My parents knew it was true. I however, didn't really get my testimony until after I had graduated from high school. At the time, I was searching for something more in my life but didn't quite know what. I thought that by living my life the way I wanted to and "living in the moment" would get me through life just fine. In reality though, I had no direction. I was going to college, had a job, great friends and a loving family but I knew that there had to be something more to life then just going through the motions. I remember one day I was thinking about growing up in this church. How happy I was when I was going to church. I hit a point of in my life where the choices I was making weren't making me happy at all and I needed guidance desperately. For the first time, I really turned to God and I wanted to know if He was there. If He even existed and what He has planned for me. It was then that I felt Him saying to me that everything was going to be alright. For the first time in my life, I really knew that God was there and that He heard and answered my prayer. Ever since that day I have recognized God's hand in my life and how much He loves all of His children. He has strengthened me and guided me to do things I never thought I could. Turn to God, it never fails.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. There's a scripture that says by small and simple means are great things brought to pass. It's the little acts of faith that make all the difference. For me, it's all about keeping my relationship with God strong. Life is full of choices, decisions, and opportunities and sometimes we can get so caught up in the temporary pleasures of life that we end up losing sight of who we are and what we can become. Relying on the Lord and having faith with the situations life throws at us is essential in finding real happiness and having the right perspective. I spent two years of my life serving as a missionary in Texas helping others to come unto Christ. I strive to follow the Savior's example in all that I do... even though I make a lot of mistakes a long the way. Prayer and scripture study is a major part in my life. It is how I communicate with my Father in Heaven. As do my best to not only believe the gospel of Jesus Christ but live it as well, I receive strength, guidance, happiness, and a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I am one that questions everything! I am not one to just believe something just because someone told me this is the way it is. I doubted whether or not The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a true church. What worked for me to know for sure was prayer. I knew that if Jesus Christ said over and over again in the scriptures to ask, seek and knock, that is what I needed to do! I started to read the Book of Mormon and pray asking God specifically if the church was true and if this was his plan for me. I felt peace, I felt sure of myself, I knew that this was where God wanted me to be and that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. It feels great to know that! If you are questioning whether or not this church is true, turn to God. He answered my prayer and he will definitely answer yours! Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries are called to invite others to come unto Christ. When they visit your home, they have no other motive then to do just that. Missionaries have the greatest message this world has to offer. The fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Missionaries will share messages about how the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored, How Christ made it possible to return back to live with Heavenly Father and our families forever, and how you can know for yourself if their message is true. That is what is so great about their message. You don't have to take there word for it.They will invite you to read from the Book of Mormon and invite you to pray and ask God to find out for yourself if their message is true. Show more Show less
