Hi I'm Jillayne

I'm a Mother. I'm courageous. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up and was baptized in this church when I was 8. It wasn't until I was 19 that I was truly converted. It saved my life. I'm a: College graduate. Wife. Mom. Runner. Home Chef (aka I love to cook). Shoe lover (especially high heels). And I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I choose to be. Everyone makes choices everywhere and everyday. I make choices based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ. Love, charity, hope, healing, and acceptance are what I live everyday and I hope that more people could feel the same.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my children. I learn more from being a teacher than I think they learn from me. Children have this amazing innocence and being able to see life and the Gospel from their perspective changes my outlook everyday. Watching them makes me more positive that this world really is a good place filled with great people when it seems that so much around us bad.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

As you read, you realize these people were very real. They had feelings and emotions. I really wonder how many times those Prophets were writing and tears fell on the pages. My favorite to read about is Alma (the Younger). I think it's because I relate to him in a very personal way. I love, love, love to read his conversion story; I feel the pain in his words and the veracity in which he warns his sons. I love to read about him talking about his people. I love to feel the mercy, hope, and love he felt for them. I know that my prayers have been answered by studying the scriptures or just opening them to what you need to hear. It's comforting knowing that all that I believe is contained in the scriptures. Show more Show less
