Hi I'm Suzi

I'm a wife and mother of two boys. I'm a neighbor and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I married when we were both in our undergraduate college programs. We thought children would come quickly, but this was not the case. Fortunately we were surrounded by family and by many friends who willingly shared their children with us. We loved and still love these children. On our eighth anniversary, my husband and I were told that despite all we had done, we had a 2% chance of ever having children. Fortunately, we had a 2% chance. Ten days after our ninth anniversary, our first child was born. A short 22 months later our second child was born. We have been very blessed by putting their needs first. An example of this is when my husband wanted to go back to school for an advanced degree while our children were young. We discussed it, studied the options and prayed about it a lot. With all of this, we became determined that even if my husband were in school full time, I would stay home with our boys. We prayed some more and received a very strong feeling that school was a good decision and that the needs of our children would be taken care of. Opportunities opened up and my husband was able to complete his classes. Because of the intensity of his program, I am so thankful that I was able to be home with the children. Though their dad was often gone he was also able to be there for them on Sundays and other days off. As my husband and I continue to strengthen our marriage and our family, we are blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the Book of Mormon. Like most of my friends, I have and love my Holy Bible. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. I love the Book of Mormon too. I will always be thankful to the person who invited me to read the Book of Mormon. Because I spent time reading and praying about the Book of Mormon, with a desire to know truth, the love of God filled my heart with much intensity. By knowing for myself that the Book of Mormon is from God, I came to know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I also came to know that The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth with the same organization that existed in the church Jesus Christ established when He was on the earth. This knowledge brought me and still brings me unspeakable joy and peace. I love God the Father and am so thankful for His incredible grace and mercy in my life. I know our Father in Heaven sent Jesus Christ to the earth to redeem us from sin and sadness.

How I live my faith

I go to church. I pray daily. I read the scriptures and the words of living prophets. I do my best to love God and love myself and others, especially those in my family. I feel that the commandments keep us safe. Though I try hard to do what is right, I know that it is only through the grace of Jesus Christ that I can be happy in this life and in the next life too. I am so thankful that I can fix mistakes through the wonder of repentance. I am so thankful that God loved us so much that He sent His Son. I am so thankful that because of Jesus Christ we can repent.
