Hi I'm Suzie

I'm a wife, I'm a first-time mum, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in England and a bit in Scotland. I have a huge family, made of siblings, step-siblings, and a half-brother, which after some adjustment for everybody has turned out to be a ton of fun. I came to the US for University, met my husband and have stayed (at least for a while:). I graduated from college a couple of years ago and am staying at home to look after our baby boy. I love to read, dance, blog, eat, spend time with friends and family, and meet new people.

Why I am a Mormon

Whether life is good or hard, my faith gives life a new dimension. When I'm sincerely striving to live how God wants me to live, I find added strength and energy to be happy, even at times when it seems impossible. The gospel of Jesus Christ is designed to help us understand ourselves better. I know that I am a daughter of Heavenly Father, and that he has a plan for me! Not only a plan for after I die, but a way for me to be happy my whole life! "Eternal Life" can begin now if we are living close to the Lord. I know that following God is a choice, that we have to choose to believe he exists, but I also know that when we choose to live with faith, it opens up the windows of heaven and we are blessed beyond imagination.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel! It can help anyone come closer to God because it is not a one-track program, but it is God helping every individual come to him, in the way they need. However, there are some things that will benefit everyone: Prayer, reading the words of prophets, attending church, and getting a Priesthood blessing. Everyday I read scripture and I pray throughout the day because I want to stay close to Heavenly Father. When I don't do these things I get distracted by celebrity lifestyles or trivial matters that make me forget who I am. I also go to church every week and teach a Sunday School class for adults with my husband. I really like serving others too as it is part of serving God, but I also like the friends I make and the extra faith it brings me.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

I love temples! I believe God wants every single one of his children to go inside because you feel him so closely. Not everyone can go inside straight away because, like in Moses' time, you had to be living a certain way to go inside. This is because the temple is the holiest thing we have on earth, and the closest thing to being in the presence of God and his angels. You don't have to be perfect, but there are certain commandments you need to be keeping before you can go in. Talk to a Bishop and he will tell you, chances are you're probably half way there!   Show more Show less
