Hi I'm Ty Griffiths

I love helping people realize their dreams and goals. I'm a film student. I want to help change the world of education.

About Me

I'm a college student at BYU Provo currently majoring in media arts, minoring in business management, and I plan on going in to instructional psychology and technology. I like being outside and I enjoy being with people. I love a good challenge, especially sports. I also enjoy learning about everything and am always looking for new ways to do so. More than anything I want to help people's dreams become reality and especially those of my family, both current and future. I believe that the best way to do so is to enable them to do so themselves through educating them. Right now I'm part of a group at BYU that is researching how to make education more innovative.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a good person I feel. But there came a point in my life where I felt I needed to be more than just a good person. I wanted to become more like my Savior Jesus Christ by following His example because I realized God was content with me not progressing and nor should I be. So I began fasting, and after 24 hours I ran to the top of a mountain near my grandfather's home to pray. I remember praying for a little, then feeling hungry, hot, and tired I ended and began to walk back. But I didn't get far before I stopped. I suddenly realized that nothing had changed, and that wasn't good enough. So I walked back, knelt down, and poured out my heart to God. As I did so an overwhelming sense of heat filled my body. Tears freely fell from my face and after some time I ended then pondered on the edge of a cliff overlooking the area. I then left, changed. That experience would not have been sufficient had I left it at that, however. I have continued to feel from time to time an incredible urge to reach a new level and change into something more. Sometimes it is from the example of others, sometimes from trials, sometimes from just God urging me in that direction. Whatever the cause though, I then seek Him out and try to understand better who He would have me become. Every time I do so I change. And I will continue to change and progress until someday, I hope, to become just like my Exemplar Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

It used to be that if I had extra time I would try and find someone to serve. Now I've found that I serve people, and if I have extra time I'll do all the other things. Things have worked out pretty well so far. I enjoy helping others live happier, more purposeful lives; which always comes by drawing closer to Christ. Every week I go to a home for mentally challenged individuals and spend time talking or playing with them. I serve as a secretary for my church. So I get to talk to a lot of people and be their friend. I love understanding better what makes people who they are. I'm not a perfect person, I make a lot of mistakes. But I try to use the talents and abilities God has blessed me with to in turn bless the lives of others. I think being able to help people laugh really helps them feel comfortable around me. I'm also a good listener and I remember things well, which I in turn helps them trust me. That way, when they need help with something, they won't hesitate to ask for help. No matter what though, I just want people to know that I sincerely care about them, that more than anything I want them to be happy.
