Hi I'm Abby

I am a big food nerd! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated college with my bachelor's degree in Nutrition. I love hiking, water polo and other sports, music, baking and anything related to food. I love being around people and spending my time with loved ones. Anytime there is a gathering of people, I believe music and food should be there too!

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I was raised mormon and didn't question much about the church and its beliefs until I was 12 years old. As I began to search for myself and what I believed, I continued to attend church with my family and participate in the youth activities. It wasn't until I was 14 years old that I heard a song tilted, "His Love" by Jake Rau. This song touched my heart so deeply, I have never forgotten what I felt. I had never felt, so strongly, that Jesus Christ died on a cross for me so that I wouldn't be required to pay for my mistakes. Christ died for me, so I could receive full forgiveness of my sins and return to live with my Heavenly Father. Christ's atonement covers any mistake and fills any gap. It reassures me that regardless of my inadequacies I will one day be able to live with my Heavenly Father again. Christ and the atonement are my anchor of my testimony. Since I have gained a testimony of Christ, I have developed a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer. Prayer is how I communicate to my Father in Heaven and receive answers to my questions. I have prayed and asked God just about everything, or so if feels and have felt my Heavenly Father's love for me when I receive an answer. The Holy ghost has confirmed in my heart and in my mind, on multiple occasions that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the fullest truth of Christ and our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the church which have critically affected my life. Each calling has taught me valuable lessons. Currently, I am an Family Home Evening Coordinator for my congregation. I love my calling and everything it entails! I help plan weekly meetings for my congregation where we share a spiritual message, participate in an activity, usually snack on treats afterwards. In my experience when individuals take time to learn and discuss spiritual, emotional, and physical lessons we grow together and get to know one another better. It is a great way to build unity with our fellow men and women! I feel so much joy from seeing people learn something new or make a new friend!
