Hi I'm Rodger

I'm a Mormon and love the truth and light the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings to my life!

About Me

I live in Utah, enjoy the great outdoors with my family and friends, love to go fly-fishing and hiking. The mountains are unique places to see nature and the beautiful places of the earth. The photo of me also has my best friend ever...my wife of 26 years. She is the best thing that has ever happend to me, I sure love her and care for her! Together, we have three great young men that make up my immediate family, two of them have served two year LDS church missions and the youngest is preparing to leave in a few years. I have been blessed in many ways for their service and they have grown immensely in their knowledge of Jesus Christ and of being in service to our fellow man.

Why I am a Mormon

Im a Mormon because Christ is my Elder brother. He taught us to be of service to others, but mainly I am a Mormon because of the knowledge and testimony of Christ found in the Book of Mormon. The book is true and testifies of Christ it helps me so much in these latter days. It was written for us and brings men to Christ. I love the Book of Mormon!!

How I live my faith

I have a great neighborhood and caring neighbors that would give you the shirt off their back! I have served a LDS Church mission in Northern Peru during 1982-84. I currently serve in the Church as a teacher in Sunday School.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Rodger
No, members of the LDS Church do not worship Joseph Smith. We believe he was called of God to restore the Church of Jesus Christ upon the earth once again in these latter days. He re-established the Church just as Christ established it in the old world. Most members hold Joseph Smith very dear to their hearts but do not worship him. We believe he was a prophet of God just as their have been prophets found throughout the earlier periods of time. God speaks through prophets to lead and guide his Church upon the earth, prophets of old such as Adam, Micah, Isaiah, Moses, etc. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, they call prophets to lead their sons and daughters upon the earth today just as they did in earlier timeframes. The Heavens are not closed off just because the year is 2011...God will not leave his children without direction from modern day prophets. Mormons believe and sustain President Thomas S. Monson as a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator today. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Rodger
Yes, the Holy Bible is the word of God and testifies of Christ. The Bible brings peace and joy into my life, it is the story of Christ in the old world. Show more Show less
