Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Darwin Australia, I'm a Uni Student, I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 23. I'm a student, currently doing a double bachelor in International Business and Commerce. I did most of my growing up in Darwin Australia with my parents and 5 siblings, but moved around a lot for my dad's work and now i live in Brisbane. I served as a missionary for the church in Fukuoka Japan, i loved my time there. Definitely wasn't the easiest 2 years but it was the best so far. I learn't so much about my self, the people of japan, life and all it's ups and downs and particularly about love for others. I have a lot of interests including, music, sports (especially wakeboarding, weightlifting, rugby & AFL), art, education, and just people in general.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, was baptised at the age of eight, went to church almost every sunday of my life. Of course there were tonnes of hard times growing up, although i loved my friends, it's not easy being the only member in your school and the only member your friends have ever met. As i got older the church thing got harder and harder. I kept going because my parents told me too, but that didn't affect the personal decisions i was making, and at the age of 18,19 they weren't very good ones. It wasn't until I was about 20 when I really started to figure out for my self why I was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. I started to see the blessings of happiness and comfort church teachings offered and how they affected people around me. As i made a decision to start living those principles whether they were super basic or not, i started to feel the blessings as well. I found more comfort and direction in life, i wasn't as worried about the future and what i would do, I felt more patience and love for others and i found it easier to find joy in the little things in life. As i started to change my ways i started to see why I was a Mormon and made the decision to serve as a missionary. In Japan my feelings and thoughts about being a member of the church and a mormon were tested daily, but they were also strengthened. I now know why I'm a Mormon, I've experienced the difference in lifestyles both living the teachings of the church and not. I'm a Mormon because i know this church is Gods church, And Jesus Christ teachings are true, I've felt it, experienced it and it's not easy at times, but now i live it the best i can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following some of Jesus Christ's most basic but most important teachings. One is to love God with all my heart and to love those around me. While I'm definitely not perfect I've always tried to love other people, care for them and be there for people when they need someone to talk with, in need of comfort or advice. I've always tried to make a point of helping people and setting a good example to all those around me. I live my faith by constantly striving to be better, to better my self and learn from my mistakes, to follow Jesus Christ's example and the gospel he preached, being Faith and Repentance.
