Hi I'm Kristyn.

I'm a homeschooling, cheesecake loving mom of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Because we do home school we spend each day making the best effort to inspire and enjoy learning. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than watching my children sit and discover something they love and know that I helped them to "become." I treasure silence, and in those rare moments I love to nap and read. I also enjoy painting and rearranging the furniture. Its my cheap way of redecorating. My best friend is my husband Aaron. Everything is better when I get to do it with him, especially if it involves milkshakes on a date! My life is not exciting, but it is busy and fulfilling. I'm grateful to know this is what God wants me to do.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me early life that service to God and our Savior brings the greatest happiness. I have learned through my own experience that it is true. In my high school there were less that 10 Mormons and that was a powerful time in my life for me personally decide to follow the teachings and principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I identified myself as a daughter of God and truly felt Him aware of me and my struggles and successes, no matter how small. Living the teachings of the Church is not easy, but I have experienced over and over again that when I do the things taught to me through the Holy Ghost, the scriptures and the Living Prophets, my life is full of peace and understanding. The Savior knows me and whether the trial is "big", like when our son died when he was only a week old, or "small", like when I'm overwhelmed with the daily tasks of being a mother, He will hear my prayers and provide answers. I am a Mormon because I know that these Truths are the BEST way to have peace in life.

How I live my faith

I have learned that one of the best ways to live the Gospel is to do the simple things. I have a firm testimony that daily personal and family scripture study and prayer, in addition to having a Family night and family meals together will have the power to save our children as they will need to battle the evils of the world today. The Savior went about doing good, and I strive to make this my daily effort. Obviously my day is filled with service in taking care of my family, but I have had amazing experiences in praying "who would thou have me bless today?" and having a specific name come to mind. It is so powerful to act as the Savior's hands to bless others, and thereby to have my life filled with blessings!
