Hi I'm Cory

I am a sergeant in the US Army. I am a husband and a father. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My wife is my best friend. Marriage takes a lot of work, but there is so much joy to get back from it. My son can undo an hour of house cleaning in ten minutes. That boy is lucky he has such a genuine smile and joyful laugh. It is hard to be angry or frustrated with that. I am proud to serve my country as a sergeant in the US Army. Education unlocks doors. That is why I take online college courses. I have a responsibility to provide for my family now and long into the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. I believe that The Book of Mormon is another testament to the divinity and reality of Jesus Christ. I believe that prophets and apostles speak to us today just as Moses spoke to Israel and Paul wrote to the believers.

How I live my faith

What I learn in church helps to strengthen my family. What I feel in church helps me to stay on the path back to my Heavenly Father.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Holy Bible is comprised of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Book of Mormon carries the subtitle Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Together, all three testify of the reality, divinity, work, and glory of Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. The current printed copies of the Book of Mormon contain thousands of cross reference footnotes to passages in the Holy Bible. These cross references help readers find and follow the connections between the two works. Many Mormons read and study from copies of The Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible printed on the same paper, cut to the same size and bound in the same leather. This is a constant visual reminder that the Book of Mormon and Holy Bible are meant to be companions. Many other Mormons use a copy of the scriptures in which both books are printed together and have become one large book wrapped in the same leather cover. Show more Show less
