Hi I'm Mark

I'm a project manager, I'm a hockey player, I'm a believer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I figure I'm a pretty normal single male in America. Usually I try and go out and do something active after work most days and spend time with friends on weekends. I still try and play sports and work out as much as I can, but fail to do as much as I want, like many people I assume. We're all trying right?

Why I am a Mormon

I was born Mormon, but have had plenty of opportunities to not stay Mormon. I absolutely love being what I am. I love being a part of a church that is occupied with helping others along the road. Every day I rely on Christ to continue to be my foundation for the decisions I make in my life. I've screwed up, sure. Who hasn't. I think the most hopeful thing in my life is that Jesus Christ is my friend, and that He's always there for me. It's so reassuring to know that I can always count on Him to be there. That's why I follow Him.

How I live my faith

I just try and do my best, which is probably just normal most of the time. I organize a small group of men in the church to do what we call "home teaching" where the members go to each others' homes each month to "check up" on them and share a brief Gospel message. I love it because I can meet so many different people and be involved in helping others. An opportunity which otherwise I may not have.

Are Mormons Christians?

You decide. I believe in a God in Heaven that loves me. More than I can imagine, I imagine. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and that through Him I can repent and live with Him again someday. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

It was written by ancient prophets who lived in America. Sort of like the American version of Noah, Moses, and Peter. They wrote down the events with Gospel importance, which were hidden up and shown to Joseph Smith to translate for US. The reason it was written was for US! What a wonderful book it is. Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I guess it does look like that in a way, and we do. I think we mostly help each other because we share a common bond of being a part of the same church. I don't see myself not stopping to help someone on the side of the road though because they're not Mormon. That's not cool. Its a tight nit group - can't fault anyone for that. But we do try and help others. We can always to better - can't we all? Show more Show less
