Hi I'm Sheila

I am a rare native Floridian. My childhood dream was to grow up, be a wife and a mother. I got more I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom. I have been married for 35 years to the same man and lived in the same home for 28 years. That is a good thing. We have 7 children ranging from 7 to 38 years old. We also have 8 grandchildren with the 9th on the way. I love children. I love the outdoors. I enjoy exercising so I can keep up with the young ones energy. And, I do like daily quiet time.

Why I am a Mormon

I married one. My husband shared with me his beliefs and testimony of the Mormon Church. I believed him. I trusted him. The Mormon missionaries also taught me what the Mormon's believed. One evening when the missionaries were teaching me, about the Book of Mormon, I felt something wonderful in the room all around me. I asked the missionaries what was this that I felt. They explained it was the Holy Ghost testifying to me that what I was learning was true. I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has let me know also that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and we have a living prophet today. The Holy Ghost has testified to me over and over again on all the different Mormon beliefs. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At church I have had the opportunity to serve in many different ways. I have organized activities for the families in the church. I have served in the nursery for children 18 months to 3 years old teaching them songs and stories from the scriptures about Jesus Christ, learning to be reverent and other gospel principles. I have also done the same for children up to 18 years old. I have also led the women's organization in the church. This service has given me great experience and learning, because the teacher always learns more than the student. It has helped me to be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Living my faith is most important in my home with those that I love the most, extending out to other family members, church members, my community and on...

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is manifested to men on the earth both as the power of the Holy Ghost and as the gift of the Holy Ghost. The power can come upon one before baptism, and is the convincing witness that the gospel is true. It gives one a testimony of Jesus Christ and of his work and the work of his servants upon the earth. The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead and, as the name implies, a personage of Spirit, not possessing a body of flesh and bones. Show more Show less
