Hi I'm Teal

I love to try new things! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Yes my name is a color! and I Love it! When I say I love trying new things, I mean it. (It gets me in trouble sometimes) I have an interest in many things, but I've never been really good at any one thing. I've scuba dived in New Zealand and snorkeled in Alaska. I like pretty much all forms of music and there's nothing like being completely worn out from a late night of dancing. I hate things that are psychologically disturbing and I have a phobia of needles. I was born and raised in Texas! My parents were divorced when I was 6, my dad raised my little sister and I for a couple years until I was 11, then he remarried and I gained 4 awesome siblings. I have oldest/middle child syndrom, meaning that I was one confused child! My family is united and so supportive of each other, it's a miracle. The other half of my life growing up was spending time with my Mom. Every 1st/3rd/5th weekend of the month, I was in a different town than all my friends. She struggled for years with Alcoholism and trying to find happiness. When I was in highschool she went to rehab and my great grandma gave her a BoM and asked her to read it. Since she had grown up LDS and she loved her grandma, she thought that she would try it again. It has made all the difference in her life and our relationship. She is happy, remarried and we are closer than ever!  The rest of me is under Why I'm Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

Since I felt like my childhood hadn't been the one I wanted, when I went to college I struggled with my independence. I was so ready to be "in control" of my life that I lost control. I made many choices that I thought would make me happy but left me empty. I had to stop going to college for a couple semesters. During this time I had several life experiences that made me re-evaluate the road that I was on and where it had taken me. I had never felt so alone. Because I had grown up in the church I knew of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for me and the peace that he offered, but it meant that I needed to change. It was my choice to be happy, and Christ was there. I started going back to church. I had an amazing bishop that had me txt him every night letting him know that I had done better that day. Little by little I grew to know that the church was true because I found that change was possible. I was recieving small answers to my prayers-Little minny mirracles that taught me truths. SO that's the small version of how I got to where I am now in my life! I'm here on a mission in Idaho and I LOVE it!

How I live my faith

I try every day to be a little bit better. To be a little more like how my Savior wants me to be. Do we want what God wants for us? I tend to think I need to be perfect, but I have a growing testimony of how Merciful God is! One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6. Because this knowledge has brought me so much happiness and faith in the future I share it with anyone who wants to listen :) I'm loving my mission!
