Hi I'm Sarah

Heavenly father has blessed me with a loving family, a job I love, and an extended family I never knew I had.

About Me

I am a mother of 6 children. My family is a blended family and I love every minute of it. I am currently going to college to get my certification in Cardiographs and in Echo-vascular technician to not only help me in my career but help others through my love of the human heart and how it works.

Why I am a Mormon

Becoming Mormon just made sense. After reading the first few chapters in the Book or Mormon and reading about Joseph Smith everything that I had doubts about made sense, everything that I questioned was answered. In my life things just started to work the way they were supposed to and I saw that as Heavenly Father telling me what choice I made was the correct and true choice. The Mormon religion was not something foreign for me because the community I grew up in had several Mormon families and my best friend was also Mormon. The more I talked to the missionaries here the more I loved the idea of being Mormon and I was baptized by one of my good friends so that made the decision even better.

How I live my faith

I go to church when I can and I freely tell everyone that asks about my necklace that I am a Mormon and I actually say it with pride. I wear a Navoo Sunstone necklace like most wear a cross necklace. I am a new convert so I haven't gotten involved in much yet but I am looking forward to the opportunity to do so.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Sarah
Official Church Answer Members are organized into local congregations called wards or branches. These congregations are organized geographically, and members attend a ward or branch near their home. Congregations meet together on Sundays to worship. The leader of a congregation is a bishop or a branch president. He is not paid for his service, but he donates his time to serve the congregation. Members are called by their leaders to serve in various positions in their congregation. Leaders seek divine guidance when making such callings. Positions to which one might be called include teachers, youth leaders, clerks, etc. A member’s service blesses others and provides opportunities for the member to learn and grow. A ward or a branch is a community in which members develop friendships and help each other. Members try to follow the teachings of an ancient prophet who taught that when we are baptized, we are “willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light” and “willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort” (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 18:8-9). Through service, members lift one another’s burdens and express their love. Show more Show less

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Sarah
Children are a wonderful blessing. “Children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalms 127:3). Raising a child isn’t easy. In fact, it’s among the most challenging and all-consuming responsibilities we have in life. But good parenting is vital—to society and to the Lord. Both mother and father have a necessary and important role in the lives of their children. Parents’ work in the home will be more effective if their first priorities are God, each other, and their children. A home that is safe, where children can grow mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, requires faith and the best efforts of the parents working together (see “The Family: A Proclamation to the World”). In such a home, children learn to love and serve each other. They learn to keep the commandments of God and to be good citizens. Such homes bless children and their communities. Show more Show less
