Hi I'm Kristen.

I have lived all over the United States. I love to read and blog. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a fun computer geek and a mom to 2 toddlers. I went to college and worked as an Administrative Assistant for a couple years - then decided I wanted to stay home and play with my kids!

Why I am a Mormon

I live the gospel because it makes me happy, it gives me a direction in life. I know that no matter what trials go on in my life, I can pray and my loving Heavenly Father will be there to comfort me. Family is very important to me, and I'm glad that after this life, I can still be together with my husband and children.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, I teach a gospel lesson to all the 4 year-old children in our ward. I prepare the lesson during the week, and on Sunday, we read scriptures, play simple games, and tell stories to keep the children's interest. I also doing visiting-teaching, which is where I go visit a few women in our ward each month and share a brief gospel message with them and show my friendship. It has helped me establish friendships in each place I have moved to.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Kristen.
A testimony is just a personal knowledge we have about the doctrines or principles of the gospel. For instance, my "testimony" is that I know Jesus lives, that He knows about and loves me personally, that my prayers have been answered, and that by following the scriptures and prophet's teachings, I can be happy in life. What do Mormons believe about family?

Kristen.
We believe that family is the most important thing in life. The church encourages us each week to have a "Family Home Evening". It is a night during the week that we set apart to spend with our family. In our family, we have a simple 2-minute lesson (before the children's attention starts to wander) on a gospel topic (stories of Jesus, about the temple, being kind). Then we sing some songs, play a game, and have a treat. It's a fun time for us. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Kristen.
The purpose of life is to live as well as we can so that we can return back to Heavenly Father after we die. We do this by trying to live the best we can: reading scriptures, attending church, praying every day, and being kind. Show more Show less
