Hi I'm Shari

I'm a crafty "city girl" who lives in the Arizona Mountains. I love my family and we LOVE boating. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I used to work full time for a CPA Firm until I had a near death experience this summer. I decided it was time to simplify my life and focus on my family and my health. It been 13 years since I was a stay at home mom. Being a mom of 2 teenage girls is a full time job. They are always forgetting something I have to run to the school and there is always some kind of drama going on. Keeping busy comes natural for me. I have a hard time sitting still and love to create beautiful things with my hands. I especially love designing flowers and "collecting" scrapbook supplies. I also help my husband run a small business...I try atleast to answer phones and make deposits and run occasional errands as he needs them. I have 2 daughters of my own and 2 by choice. Our two oldest were married this summer and the other 2 are in High School. Both are cheerleaders and very much teenage girls. I spend alot of time painting posters it seems. I also enjoy spending time as a family boating at the Lake and watching my husband try to catch fish. When at home I keep busy wrestling to keep my Saint Bernard from tramping mud through the house and eating everything he can put in his mouth. I was raised in a large and close knit family and enjoy visiting them often in the big city. Most of them are active Mormons. My husband is a convert to the church of 25 years and one of my daughters by choice was just baptised this year. I have recently fallen in love with doing our Family History.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS Church. My parents taught us the value of having a deep and abiding faith in our lives and showed us by example how to live a life of Integrity and Charity. I know that when I am following the teachings of Jesus Christ that I am happier. The trials and problems that I face in life can be really hard but knowing my Heavenly Father's plan for me brings me peace and hope. Jesus Christ is willing to carry our burdens and our pains ....this is very comforting to me. The Mormon Church teaches us to love everyone and that if I want Mercy then I must extend it to others. Knowing that my family is forever and that this church has been given the keys to bind us together for eternity is such a beautiful promise of peace that speaks to my very soul that I in no way can ever deny it.

How I live my faith

I have spent many years working with the young women of the church from ages 8 yrs old to 18 years old. I am happiest when working with the youth. I especially enjoyed the many years I spent as Ward Camp Director and Young Women's President. I have learned how to throw huge parties by serving several years as Ward Activities leader. I never thought I would need to know ham portions for 300 before. I spent the last year in the best calling in the church....The nursery. Where else do you get to play with play dough, do puzzles, and have a snack during church? Recently I have been asked to be the the Ward Choir Director. I am nervous to lead others in music who may know more than myself but have come to realize that the Lord has a plan for me and right now it is to find a calm reassurance of his love through music which I have hidden away for so many years.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I have found that I am closest to the Savior when I am regularly reading the scriptures. We pray as a family together that we may understand the words we are reading and ask for Heavenly Father's help to apply the things we read into our lives. We also ask for his Spirit to be with us so we can have a better understanding of his hand in our lives and feel protected from the evils of the world. There is a peace that comes from including Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in all that I do. I am comforted by knowing he is there for me and my desire to follow him increases. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus is the literal Son of our Heavenly Father. He created the earth under the direction of his Father and was sent here to teach us by example how to live a righteous life. He atoned for our sins and made it possible for us to overcome death. When this life is over He will be the final judge and determine our salvation. He is my older brother and my friend.
