Hi I'm John

I was born and raised in Canada. I love playing hockey, hiking, running, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in a small prairie town in Alberta, Canada. When I say small, I mean small - there were only 48 kids in my graduating class! I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. From a young age, my wonderful parents taught us the importance of hard work and integrity. I remember mowing a lot of lawns and shoveling a lot of driveways as a kid! My home town is out on the prairies and is just over an hour out of the Rockies. As I grew up, I came to love the outdoors, especially going up to the mountains to hike and camp. I also developed an obsession with hockey, and some of my favorite memories growing up were playing on my friend's pond under the lights! I served a 2 year mission for the Mormon church in Pocatello, Idaho from 2009-2011. During this time, I came to love the great people of Idaho. I was also blessed to see firsthand how the teachings of Jesus Christ can improve anyone's life! Since returning from my mission, I have been attending Brigham Young University. Currently, I am studying Finance, and I hope to find a career in the Personal Finance Industry. I decided to go this route in part because I have seen the difference that teaching makes in the lives of others, and I feel that helping others experience success in life is among the most rewarding experiences ever!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior! My life is so much better when I follow Him. He loves us. I know that He has a divine plan of happiness for everyone. As I have done my best to follow His example, I have found greater purpose and more happiness than I could have ever imagined!

How I live my faith

Life every minute of life to the fullest and do all that I can to serve others. We are all surrounded by our people who are desperately searching for peace and happiness. These are our brothers and sisters!

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries are sent out to help others come unto Christ! They are not sent out to tear others down or argue, but to share what they know to be true and invite others to find out for themselves. Their message is one of peace and joy, and the life of any sincere seeker of truth will be benefited as they live the gospel principles, which are centered on Jesus Christ, that the missionaries share with them.
