Hi I'm Chris

I skateboard. I do photography. I am a mormon.

About Me

I've been into skateboarding since 7th grade. I've done photography since 10th grade. Both things have essentially become my life. Everyday is skatepark or national park? Of course there is work to, but thats never to exciting. I find joy and peace in being outside, whether its hiking, climbing, canyoneering, whatever. Its all the same. There is a certain spirit, an energy, an excitement i feel when doing these things. I think that is what life is about. It's about following that good spirit. Doing the things God would have you do. It's just up to us to find out what those things are.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My mom was catholic but converted when i was 3. This has been the greatest blessing in my life. I have answers to questions. I know how to get answers to new questions I may have. This has come and only comes through revelation. God is still speaking. The heavens are opened. We just have to put forth some effort into learning and coming to know the truth. This has come to me primarily through prayer, scripture study, and church attendance. It is never really something i would consider easy, but it is possible and the best thing we can do in life.

How I live my faith

I just got done serving a 2 year mission for the church. I was able to meet alot good people. They all had different perspectives on life and things in life. I had the opportunity to work with them and have learned that although we may not always agree, it does not mean that we have to be separate or against each other in any way. We all come from the same place and we are all aim for the same goal, which is to simply try to do the best we can and to always do good things. I believe that everyone in the world thinks they are doing the best thing they can do. The difference comes when we have different beliefs on what the right thing is. Nobody tries to do wrong. Everyone deep inside believes what they are doing is right and good. This has given me a greater sense of compassion and love even when I may not agree with someone and their point of view. I learned a lot from growing on a mission. It has changed my life and will allow me to do more, not just in the church but in all aspects of life. Its amazing how when we serve and help those around us we are really only serving and helping god. I try to be the best example i can by standing for what I believe and doing what i know to be true.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Chris
We rely wholly upon the merits of Christ. We cannot do anything by ourselves to attain salvation. We do however need to act in faith in all we do, acting no hypocrisy. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Chris
Faith is the principle of action in all intelligent beings. Faith is the drive that causes us to act. When you turn on a light switch you cannot see the wires behind the wall that connect the switch and light bulb. However you do act as if you know they are hooked up correctly. this is faith. You cannot see how it is done, but you believe strong enough to feel that what you are doing will benefit you in some way and therefore you act accordingly. This is faith. In short it is confidence. It applies to all areas of life.  Show more Show less
