Hi I'm Stephen Gentry

I am a Mormon. I Love the Lord Jesus Christ and I know the Savior's church has been organized, ordained and restored (Acts 3:19).

About Me

I love God and His Son Jesus Christ and have served God since 1975. In 1979 I served 2 years as a full-time missionary in the Seattle Washington Mission. After moving to Auburn, Washington in 1992 I’ve been sharing the Gospel with Native Americans of the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation. I love my family. I’m a husband to a beautiful, faithful and loving wife who has been my eternal companion since 1982. We raised 3 healthy and talented children (2 daughters and a son). We have been grand parents since 2008 and look forward to many more grand children in the future. Before having a Colorado driver’s license I began a 20+ year career in construction installing drywall and for several years owned my own company called “Awesome Drywall” which helped me finish college while supporting my family and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in 1992, and from 1988 to present continue to develop my career programming computers and have worked in several large and small companies in Washington State. I love the outdoors. I became a certified mountaineer in June, 2000 and love climbing the highest peaks in Washington, Utah, and Colorado and in at the invitation of a close friend started riding in the 200-mile annual STP Bicycle Rally. I hiked across the Grand Canyon, to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite; mountain-biked Slick Rock at Moab, Utah, and visited many parks with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon home. My mother taught us and made sure we all went to church every Sunday, but as a teenager I fell away, stopped attending meetings, and for 10 years thought I knew a better direction in life. Then in 1975 I decided to study the Mormon beliefs on my own, and not long into the study discovered for myself that it is of God. Since then I have been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I am blessed with many personal witnesses from our Heavenly Father that The Book of Mormon is Gods' word, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the original church of Christ restored to earth in these last-days – the only true and living church with God’s priesthood authority.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being willing to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in truth and righteousness and by doing my best to build the Kingdom of God on earth. Being a missionary has always been my favorite calling in the church, but I’ve also taught children, youth and adults in Sunday School classes, boy scouts, and many other organizations. For many years I’ve been sharing the Restored Gospel with Native Americans on the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation here in Auburn, Washington. I find great happiness knowing that The Book of Mormon was written by Ancient Americans to their blood brothers and sisters who live In our day.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Stephen Gentry
Throughout history, God has chosen prophets, such as Noah, Abraham, Moses, and others, to teach the gospel and direct His Church (Amos 3:7). It is no different today. We all need God’s guidance in a world that is sometimes confusing. Because God loves His children, He continues to send living prophets. Joseph Smith (1805–44) was the first prophet of our time. Thomas S. Monson is God’s chosen prophet today. Just as God led the Israelites out of slavery and to a better place through His prophet Moses, He leads His children today into happier, more peaceful lives when they choose to follow His living prophet. We invite you to listen to the words of living prophets and consider how knowing God’s will can benefit your life. I personally know there is a living prophet like Moses alive today. The Lord Jesus Christ sent the resurrected Peter, James, and John to restore Gods' authority to Joseph Smith Jr. in 1829, and that same unbroken authority rests upon our current prophet and president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These things I know of myself and not of man but through a most wonderful and powerful personal witness from Gods' messenger of truth - the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
